Homecoming Parade

Matt and I took Levi to the university homecoming parade 2 weekends ago. Levi liked dancing to the bands and seeing the different floats. One thing about the parades here is the people in them throw out candy. We got a lot of candy this time because there weren't any other little kids - or big kids either- standing in front of our chairs. One set of people even handed out potatoes.

The problem with the parade this year was that 2 kids got hurt running into the street to get the candy. One happened not even 1/2 a block away and they stopped the parade and an ambulance showed up to make sure the little boy was ok. He didn't leave in the ambulance so he must have been alright. What I had heard was that a car hit the child, who fell over and the car ran over his leg. It wasn't until the next day that Matt and I went to dinner at friend's house and it was their grandson who was hit by the car. No broken bones just a nice bruise on his head and another big bruise on his leg. I'm just glad that he was alright.
