Pics

Kendra now rolls over all the time. She is also a tummy sleeper now too. I find her all the time on her belly at night.

The kids got matching hats and pants from another mama from a swap. Kendra's in way too big for her though.

This one will probably be our Christmas card.

I like this picture of the kids holding hands.

Levi showing off a new diaper that came with the hats and pants.

Reah showing off a diaper made by another mama from another swap.

I've been doing a few crafts lately too - most of it is for other people though.
I made a pair of longies for a swap.

And a newborn all in one (AIO) diaper for a friend's new baby.

A pocket fitted for another swap.

and 2 ribbon blankies - the blue one is for another swap.

Kendra really loves her blankie.

Birth Story

I was playing around on Facebook on Sat July 3rd and got up to get Reah a drink. I got to the fridge and went to turn around to ask her if she wanted milk or water when I started leaking all over. I was able to get to the bathroom where fluid just gushed and gushed. Reah had followed me into the bathroom and started slipping on the wet floor. I'm holding her by the arm and sitting on the toilet so I started yelling for Matt to come here (he was sleeping). He came in and I told him that my water just broke and he was still sleepy and asked me "are you sure?" I just looked at him and showed him my wet pants and said "this is different from peeing my pants" Anyway, I didn't have any bags packed for me or for the kids so Matt and I ran around the house getting things ready to go. I also had to change my pants again from the leaking. Anyway, after dropping the kids off at my SIL's we got to the hospital about an hour after my water broke. I think we got there after 6:30 and was hooked to an IV and had some pitocin around 7pm. Oh and the day before I was dilated 1cm but when I went in I was dilated to 3-4cm. I got an epidural around 8:30 and every single time the anesthesiologist went to do something to me I was focused on breathing through a contraction so I didn't really feel anything. Around 9:45 (I think - I can't remember) the nurse had me turn onto my left side and upped my pit to get things moving faster - I was just supposed to tell her if I was feeling pressure. I was laying there reading a book and Matt was watching a movie. The resident came in to check on me and I mentioned that he should let the nurse know I was having a little pressure. She came in a few minutes later and wanted me to turn over onto my right side. I turned over to my back and just kind of thought "Oh there is something there." The nurse decided to check my cervix again and she was looked at me with her eyes wide and said, "Are you sure you haven't been feeling any pressure? There is baby's head right there!" She then went to call my OB in. She came back in with the resident and started getting the room ready. She also just told me "whatever you do DON'T PUSH!!!" So I waited it out through the contractions where I felt her coming but I didn't push. My OB arrived and started saying I was very nice to let him finish lighting fireworks with his family and Matt mentioned that I had let him finish his movie too. The nurse had to remind my OB to get gowned up (he came in a t-shirt and shorts) because the baby was right there. My dr looks at me and says "OK don't cough, sneeze, laugh, or push in any way" I just looked at him like he was crazy - then the nurse the resident, and my OB start teasing me about not having a 4th of July baby and her coming into the world with a bang and just teasing me about not even feeling that the baby was there. I couldn't handle it anymore and I burst out laughing. Matt tried to get me to stop and the nurse just looked and me and said, "Come on! I've never had someone laugh their baby into the world." I couldn't stop laughing and out came my baby girl - no pushing at all at 10:41pm.
She was 8lbs 4oz 21in and she looked different than my other kids. She has been really sleepy and had to deal with Jaundice because my milk didn't come in until 5 days (but that is typical for me). We spent 2 nights and a day trying to get her to stay in the bilibed. She is a strong little lady. Oh and her name is Kendra Johanna. She is almost 2 weeks and is finally starting to get a pink color back in her skin.

Cleaning, and pics

I've been pretty busy lately trying to get my house in order. I like that the kitchen is clean and has been for a few days :) I'm not the greatest at keeping my house clean and I've been trying to do a little everyday (not too hard when I'm pretty big already) and I found a website that has been helping me a little to get things into a routine (flylady). I feel better about a slightly cleaner house and I know Matt loves that the clutter is slowly being removed. I guess this could count as nesting LOL.

Here's some new pics of the kids.

looking at this picture lets me see just how much the look alike in the face.

What a handsome little guy

Reah is all about accessories. I wish I had gotten a picture of her whole outfit here she insisted on wearing green froggie (or bibbip as she calls frogs) slippers.

look at her "pretties" her headband necklace and bracelets.

Happy St Patricks Day

What did you say?

Yep that's right! It's St Patrick's Day!

Happy Green day to you. The kids are going to try out traditional Irish food tonight - Corned Beef and Cabbage, Irish Soda Bread, and Champ. We'll see how they like it.

We are still here

Wow there has been so much going on lately that my blogging gets put on the back burner. We are all doing good and sometimes we wish we had some snow so the kids can play in it but we seem to only get a small skiff in the morning. That melts by the afternoon though.

Levi is going through a not talking phase (Reah gets what she wants by not talking) and it drives me crazy. Last week he wouldn't tell us what he wanted (even though I could tell by his actions that he wanted to eat) and just whined or fake cried. After a while of this, I put him in his chair but he still wouldn't stop so I told him if he wanted to be a baby and not tell me what he wanted he could eat some baby food. Then I gave him the choice of baby food or "big boy food" so after fake crying he finally said "baby food" and that is what he got. The worst kind we had too so it wasn't fun for him. The first bite he had the most disgusted expression on his face but he swallowed the peas then refused to eat any more of it. He finally told us that he wanted the big boy food with broccoli trees in it. He wants to sleep in the crib all the time and says that is his "big boy bed" and there is a huge meltdown when he doesn't get to eat in the high chair and has to sit in the booster chair at the table. I'm going to remedy that though because as soon as my table gets cleaned off and the high chair gets deep cleaned it is going into the storage room and the kids will sit in the 2 booster seats at the table. The baby stuff was last week though. This week Levi's new "thing" is saying the phrase "No wanna do it" like they typical 2 year old. I'm trying to pick and choose the battles but it gets said at least a million times a day and about everything LOL.

Levi has started saying prayers by himself though it is usually "Heavenly Fadder, thank for friends, thank for gospel, thank for family, bless Grandma and Grandpa (this is usually yelled), bless Wabi (Levi) and Reah, bless missionaries." At this point he gets stuck and starts to repeat the stuff he has already said if Matt or I don't "help" him finish. Reah also knows what to do for prayers she tries to fold her arms but it is usually her hands crossed at the wrists in front of her.

Reah still surprises me with the things she does. She carries around a baby doll and her little blankie and a sippy cup if she can get all of it in her arms and just walks around the house. I really haven't counted how many words she says but there are a lot and new ones every day that she picks up. Her sentences are still 2 words like "hi Daddy" and she practices her signs all the time too. She loves the magna doodle and loves to scribble on it she calls it "circle" but it sounds like gircle. She loves to tease her brother too. She will take his toys and run away while he cries and sometimes chases her. I guess that makes up for her "tattle cry" she has had since she was old enough to get around. If Levi pushes her down or takes her toys she lets out this loud cry and walks to me just to let me know.

I'm doing good. Today is ultrasound day so I'll tell everyone soon what this baby is if it cooperates.

Updates

We had a very good New Year's Eve party with some of our ward. We played games and ate snacks until after midnight while the kids played with each other. Reah was so tired but there was way too much going on that she couldn't fall asleep. Both kids were awake to ring in the new year with us LOL.

Levi has moved on from singing the ABC's and telling me every single letter he sees to trying to write his letters. He continues to amaze me. He knows how to write the letters I, H, T, C, O, E, F, and he has been working on M and D. He could sit for an hour with his magna doodle writing letters. He also loves to jump on my bed while saying "No monkeys jump on Mommy's bed" Matt and I have tried to convince him that he needs to jump on his bed but he can't jump as far on his bed.

Reah got another tooth just after New Year's Day so she now has 6 teeth. That doesn't stop her from eating everything we eat. I'm trying to wean her off of the bottle a little at a time. She does say bottle and rolls her tongue when she says it - it's so cute. She also says "Levi, no, daddy, mama, stinky, and I swear she said "uh-oh spaghetti O's" the past 2 days. She loves playing Patty cake and Peek-a-boo and where is your nose. She has started saying stinky and patting her diaper and waving her hand in front of her nose when she has had a messy diaper.

The kids are just growing up too fast. I'm now 14 weeks and I'm finally feeling better and I can eat again. I have my next Dr appointment next week and hopefully schedule the ultrasound then to see what I'm going to have. I'm starting to show just a little bit too. I'm definitely not in maternity clothes yet like I was when I was pregnant with Reah. Hopefully I can still fit into the 1 pair of jeans for a few more weeks.

Christmas

Santa came to our house and left a farm and stroller! Yes I know there are no ornaments on my tree the kids didn't think they needed them so everything withing reach was thrown around the house.

The Clipo table, barn, and teapot were the hits! Oh notice the jammie pants (I spent all day Christmas Eve sewing them up I wanted to do flannel but the pattern I used turned out really bad so they are fleece and should work great as diaper covers too!)

Levi lining up his new cars - very typical of him LOL

Drinking "hot chocolate and soup" from the mugs.

This Christmas we spent at home but we had lots of time for the kids to play with some cousins and Matt and his brother enjoyed the new wii they got and we brought some of our games.

Christmas Eve we went over to Matt's brother's house after dinner and we let the kids play for a little while but then we had a very nice lesson on how we couldn't have Christmas without having Easter also and the true meaning of Christmas. Scriptures were read in the Old Testament (Isaiah) and in the Book of Mormon (1 Nephi) and of course the New Testament (Luke 2). There were even some Messiah songs mixed in there and it was a great reminder of Jesus Christ and all that he has done for us.

Christmas was small but there were still presents (I don't know what I would have done if my parents hadn't helped us out a little). After opening presents we let Reah take a nap and then headed over to Matt's brother's again. I felt like all I did was try to keep the kids out of the Christmas tree LOL. One ornament didn't survive Levi throwing it and squeezing it in his hand. Our ornaments are shatterproof so he wasn't used to the glass (breakable) ornaments.

Videos of the kids

I swear these are at least 2 months old but they are cute anyway. I really hope these work anyway. Levi was being a little silly and didn't really want to sing his ABC's so he kind of shouted them instead. And some of Reah's first steps.

Reah's Birthday Party

We were at my brother's house for the weekend after Reah's birthday and had a little party for her while we were there. My nephews (twins) were willing to share their birthday with Reah but they are 11 now so I guess it wasn't as big of a deal. Reah had her own little cake and everyone else had cupcakes.

She liked the chocolate frosting and dug in to that.

When she got to the cake she just picked off little tiny pieces and put them very daintily in her mouth :)

My camera batteries were not charged so we didn't get the end of the cake picture. She was so tired and started rubbing frosting into her eyes so I just washed her off instead of getting that last picture. We had a lot of fun that weekend.
