Man it is that time of year when everyone gets sick and then spreads it around to everyone else. I was hoping that we wouldn't get hit this year but we weren't so successful. Levi got a cough that sounded croupy the night before he had his checkup. It wasn't in his lungs so we figured we were in the clear and it was just the croup so the humidifier has been going every night since then and he has been in the hot steamy bathroom a few times too. He still has a cough and I kept him home from church on Sunday so that we wouldn't spread it to other kids.
Reah now has a cough and has had it for a few days (2 maybe 3 days I can't remember). She woke up to nurse at 3:30 this morning and after eating she started coughing and coughing. I woke Matt up to suck her nose out (because he does a better job than I do at that). After that she was still coughing and then she would breathe a few times and then stop for a while (it seemed like a long time to me) and would start coughing again. Poor thing :( It was breaking my heart seeing her like that plus my mother's intuition kicked in and everything I'd ever heard about RSV kept coming to my mind. I told Matt that we needed to take her in because she was having a really hard time breathing but he kept telling me that it was just a cold and that is what happens with colds. Anyway I took her to the ER and after chest x-rays and a RSV swab both looked good the swab was negative they sent us home with orders to follow up with her Dr today or tomorrow. Anyway she has her followup appointment with her Dr this afternoon. She is still coughing and wheezing - she sounds terrible but the ER gave her the diagnosis of bronchiolitis.

Oh no, 2 month old babies shouldn't every get sick. It's no fun for Mommy or baby. I hope everything works out okay and she recovers quickly.
